Seasons Greetings and New Years Resolutions

Well it is almost the end of 2010. Can you believe it?
If you think back one year have you achieved all you wanted to achieve this year.
When you have some free time you should sit down with a good cup of coffee and a notepad and pen. Draw up a list of 100 goals you would like to accomplish in 2011.

Then refine it to 50 goals, then to 20 goals, then to 10 goals.
Set a due date for each goal and plan how you intend to achieve it.
Some goals might be quite big and you might have to set up mini-goals for them.
The main task is to get yourself on track. Set a plan for your work and work your plan.

Set goals for your career, what do you want to do? What do you love doing? Follow that.
Set goals for your personal life.
Goals for your finances, pay off those debts, invest more so you can live a comfortable life.
Focus on your hobbies.
Give back to society.

The main aim is to enjoy it all.
So that at the end of 2011 you can tick off all those goals you set now.

Xmas Time

Yup it's Xmas time, the malls are packed and you want to bash every person out of the way so you can get your Xmas shopping done. If you are lucky you have finished your shopping, if you still have to do it good luck. I recommend you take along a baseball bat.

Had some interesting experiences over the weekend.

Went to the Galleria Mall and first went to Absa Bank to deposit some money. Over 100 people were in the line to deposit money. Nobody complained, they had simply agreed that service sucks and just bear with it. There was no manager to be seen, the manager did not open extra tills. The bank was also awfully designed. There should have been extra tellers but hey, we all have just got used to poor service.

Next up was Nando's in the Galleria. Once again a long line. Best of all, no cashier at the till, actually nobody was at the till, it was a ghost town. Just a long line of curious would be customers. Once again just standing around and taking it.

As a company manager you need to be in the melting pot, watching what is happening and adjusting your business as and when. Making it better and better.

The highlight was leaving the mall. Had to be the first time I had to queue to get out of my parking space. Lol.

Work on making your business better and people will flock to it.

Make your business an awful experience and customers will go elsewhere.

How do you handle stress?

Over the last few weeks I have had two very stressful events occur in my life.
The death of a friend and then having to handle a family emergency.

Two very stressful events.
How does one handle stressful events?

Well you take it one day at a time.
You take it one step at a time.
It can certainly knock you back a bit but it is how you handle it that counts.

So the next time something stressful hits you take a deep breath, count to ten and slowly but surely handle it.

One step at a time.
One day at a time.

Wishing you all continued success.

I just discovered this great blog certainly worth the read and be sure to bookmark it.

Your Motivational Tip for Friday

Friday is here and it is time to party for most people. Some people will be going out to have a big party and have loads of fun. Hey they have earned it, they have worked hard and want to enjoy themselves.

What are you going to do?

It's good to have a good time on the weekend but also think about setting some time apart for yourself. Go for a coffee just by yourself and have a meeting with yourself.

Ask yourself these questions.
Are you happy with where you are in life?
If not what do you intend doing about it?

Are you dong what you love? Is this your passion?

Where do you see yourself in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years?
Are you on track with your ideal life.

Well have a wonderful weekend and enjoy life to the maximum.
